Body modification is not something new, but an art that dates back centuries, possibly all the way back to the time of the caveman.

At my Body Piercing Seminars I tell the story of Og the caveman who is running through the forest with his lit fire stick. Og falls and the stick penetrates through his arm. At that time Og received four forms of body modification that are still practiced today. First he received a crude body piercing from the stick penetrating him. Secondly the carbon from the firestick left pigment behind resulting in a tattoo. He also recieved a brand from the fire itself and a scarification from the wound.

Being a Body Modificationist requires an individual to act as a counsler, a technician, a shaman or guide helping someone to explore new horizons, cross new thresholds entering a new world of consciousness.
