HOW IS YOUR BODY DECORATED?

As I have covered before, man has been decorating his body since the dawn of time. He has and continues to decorate his body in many ways. Tattooing, piercing, scarification and branding are some of the most current and perhaps permanent decorations. All of us that have modified our bodies have done it for many reasons.

I have tattoos covering a good part of my arms, on my legs and my chest is also done. I have over a dozen piercings above and below the waist. I enjoy them all. Almost all of my piercings I have had for over 20 years. For me it is not a fad, but part of my lifestyle. I am fortunate that I do not regret any of them and am still collecting.

Friends, I just wanted to take a few minutes and show you something that I just came across that I found to be an amazing value. I know that this is totally different from my regular blogs, but, I felt that you would like them as much as I am.
The first one is TV on my PC. A friend of mine just the other day installed the software for TV on my PC on his computer and it is simply amazing. With in minutes he had over 3000 channels available to him using TV on my PC. Not only is he getting over 3000 channels with TV on my PC, with unbelievable clarity, he can watch regular programing and eliminate his $150.00+ cable bill a month. With just a one time fee, I am putting TV on my PC on my PC today.

TATTOO

A tattoo is a mark made by inserting pigment into the skin: in technical terms, tattooing is micro-pigment implantation. Tattoos may be made on human or animal skin. Tattoos on humans are a type of body modification, while tattoos on animals are most often used for identification.
Tattooing has been a nearly ubiquitous human practice. The Ainu, the indigenous people of Japan, wore facial tattoos. Tattooing was widespread among Polynesian peoples, and in the Philippines, Borneo, Africa, North America, South America, Mesoamerica, Europe, Japan, and China. Despite some taboos surrounding tattooing, the art continues to be popular all over the world.

The word "tattoo" is traced to the Tahitian tatu or tatau, meaning to mark or strike (the latter referring to traditional methods of applying the designs). In Japanese the word used for traditional designs or those that are applied using traditional methods is irezumi ("insertion of ink"), while "tattoo" is used for non-Japanese designs.
Tattoo enthusiasts may refer to tattoos as tats, ink, art or work, and to tattooists as artists. The latter usage is gaining support, with mainstream art galleries holding exhibitions of tattoo designs and photographs of tattoos.
Tattoo designs that are mass-produced and sold to tattoo artists and studios and displayed in shop are known as flash.

MALE PIERCINGS

MALE PIERCINGS

PUBIC
This piercing is placed where the shaft of the penis and the torso come together. It is more of a visually stimulating piercing, except in close, tight grinding intercourse.

PRINCE ALBERT
Named historically for Queen Victoria’s consort; Prince Albert. It was also known at the time as a dressing ring. This is considered by many men to be the most sensual of all penile piercing. It is known to enhance stimulation for both partners. The piecing is placed so that the jewelry would travel down the urethra and exit just beyond the juncture where the head of the penis meets the shaft. There is a very small amount of skin that is actually pierced and healing is quite quick.

REVERSE PRINCE ALBERT
The reverse Prince Albert is similar to the Prince Albert as the piercing travels from the tip of the urethra , but, exiting on the top of the head of the penis in the notch where the head of the penis and the glans surrounding it come together.

APADRAVYA
This piercing is the combination of the Prince Albert and Reverse Prince Albert put together with a barbell. This piercing is even discussed in “The Karma Sutra” and ancient Hindu writing on love and social conduct. This piercing may also be done as a single or one shot piercing by marking both the top and bottom of the head of the penis and piercing completely through and inserting a barbell.

AMPALLANG
Indigenous to Indonesia and the South Pacific, this horizontal penile head piercing is primarily done to enhance the sexual pleasure for women. At one time the women from these areas considered a man without an Ampallang to be undesirable.
As this is a very long piercing healing can take six months or longer to complete.

FRENUM
Technically the web on the central underside of the penis, however, if done within the “vee” of the head of the penis it is called a frenulum piercing; and if done at the bottom of the shaft where it comes together with the scrotum it is called a “Lorum”
The piercings are done perpendicular to the shaft of the penis.

SPEED BUMPS
These piercings are similar to the Frenum piercing with the exception that they are done on the top of the shaft of the penis.
Most women enjoy experiencing these piercings and enjoy the feeling of their clitoris bumping over them.

SCROTUM
May be pierced anywhere someone would want it pierced, however, the most common areas are either down the central seam or the folds of skin on either side. It is advisable not to pierce the back of the scrotum as it would make walking and sitting more difficult.

HAFADA
Is a very specific scrotum piercing that is performed as a right of passage for certain Arabic tribes. It is done in pairs, one on each side of the scrotum where the fold of the scrotum and the shaft of the penis come together.

DYDOES
This piercing is always done in pairs through the glans of the head of the penis. They are normally located between the 10 and 11 clock positions and the 1 and 2 clock positions perpendicular to the glans. It is done on men that have been circumcised and who wish to regain some of the feelings lost by the circumcision. The most comfortable jewelry to be worn would be short barbells to fit with small balls as larger balls can cause too much irritation.

GUICHE
A horizontal piercing done in between the scrotum and the anus, approximately where the seams of a pair of pants would meet.
Indigenous to the South Pacific it is not a piercing for someone who sit’s a lot. After healing, people have been known to ad what is called a guiche weight, so that when having intercourse, the weight would swing back and forth, tapping the scrotum with pleasurable sensations.

FEMALE PIERCINGS

LABIA MINORA and LABIA MAJORA
Historically speaking, labia piercing are the female equivalent of male foreskin piercing. Having been a means of assuring female chastity, this piercing has been used by many cultures. For many modern women, labia piercing are not performed to restrict intercourse, but, to enhance erotic feelings.

The labia minora (inner lips) are the hairless, wrinkled, often darker pigmented lobes of skin which fringes the vagina. They are one of the most popular female genitalia piercing, because they are thin, relatively easy to pierce and heal quickly.
The labia majora (outer lips) form the exterior of the vulva. They can be pierced anywhere along their length., however, the further to the bottom or back of the vulva area can cause discomfort while sitting. The outer labia is thicker then the inner labia and generally takes longer to heal.

CLITORAL HOOD
The clitoral hood is the thin hood of skin that covers the clitoris. This particular piercing can be done either horizontally or vertically depending on the persons anatomy.
The more common of the two is the vertical. This type of piercing is traditionally done when the hood completely covers the clitoris. The optimum jewelry for this piercing is a captive bead ring as it will have more contact (think stimulation) with the clitoris then the horizontal.
The horizontal hood piercing is done when the hood does not completely cover the clitoris. This piercing is placed so that when completed it will only go through the shin of the hood in front of the clitoris with the bead of the ring rubbing directly on the clitoris.

TRIANGLE
This piercing is very similar to the horizontal hood piercing in looks, however, the piercing goes behind the clitoris and stimulates it from behind. This is a very stimulating piercing and a person may have it in combination with either hood piercing.

A very stimulating piercing done at the bottom end of the vagina. It is situated where, if when delivering a baby and the woman is unable to dilate enough to deliver. Although this is a relatively new type of piercing, it is not comfortable for many women.

CLITORIS
Although there are many women in the world who would love to have their clitoris pierced it is not an easy piercing to do.
Generally, unless the woman’s clitoris is of significant size it is not recommended. It is not recommended because if it were not of significant size permanent damage could occur to the nerve endings of the clitoris.

PRINCESS ALBERTINA.
This a very advanced piercing and is not very common. The piercing is done inside the vaginal area, where the urethra is located. The piercing which is very similar to the male Prince Albert piercing is designed to stimulate the urethra.

Common Unisex Body Piercings

COMMON BODY PIERCINGS

UNISEX PIERCINGS

EARS
Of all the common body piercing done today, those of the ear are the most widespread and socially acceptable. There are many different piercing that are done within the confines of the ear including: the ear lobe, cartilage, rook, daith, tragus, anti-tragus, industrial, conch and more.

Although an ear piercing gun can be used for the piercing of the ear lobe, it is not advisable to pierce beyond three holes on the lobe. All of the other piercing must be done with a needle and jewelry. An ear piercing gun is not meant for any other body part.

EYEBROW
The eyebrow has become one of the more common body piercing being performed today. Preferably, rings from 20ga to 14ga are used for the piercing to ease cleaning and facilitate healing. The piercing is normally placed so the ring appears to wrap around the eyebrow. It is recommended that the piercing first be done with a ring and can be later switched to a barbell if desired.

NOSTRIL
Nostril piercing have been common in numerous diverse cultures. One of the most common cultures that have used nostril piercing have been from the Middle East, India and Pakistan. Many modern men and women have adopted the fashion of either wearing a ring or nostril screw in their nostril. For women of the above cultural origins, those that have their nostril pierced actually signifies their cultural status of being single, married or widowed.

An ear stud should not be worn in a nostril piercing as there are nerves inside the nostril that if damaged can cause severe problems for the wearer.

SEPTUM
Septum piercing has been and continues to be prevalent in many cultures throughout the world. Some African, Indonesian and Indian tribes of North, Central and South America.

Most piercing enthusiasts are able to survive in an unsympathetic world, only because with the wearing of certain jewelry, the piercing is not easily visible.

With the piercing placed properly, the piercing only goes through the thin web of skin beneath the central nasal cartilage.

LIP
Piercing of the lip and cheek have become common place in many cultures around the world. Placement for the piercing may be placed anywhere along the length of either the top or bottom lip. Some swelling of the lip tissue is common with these piercing.

LABRET
This particular piercing is done centered below the bottom lip. The height is dependent upon the facial features of the person getting pierced. Note that the piercing does not go through the lip as splitting of the lip can easily occur. The overall concept of the piercing is to create more of a “pout” of the lower lip. It also acts as a focal point for the wearer. It is imperative that the placement is correct as a misplaced piercing will be very visible. The correct jewelry for this piercing is called a labret stud.

REVERSE LABRET
The piercing is similar to the regular labret piercing with the exception that it is placed centered above the upper lip.

MONROE, CRAWFORD or MADONNA
These piercing are done within the frown lines of the mouth. They are appropriately named to emulate the beauty marks of Marylyn Monroe, Cindy Crawford and Madonna.

SNAKEBITES
The placement for snakebites is on the lower lip with the placements being equal distance from the center of the lip.

CHEEK PIERCING
The cheek piercing goes through the side of the cheek to give the look of a dimple or to enhance a dimple.

TONGUE
The tongue piercing is not something that everyone can have. The correct placement is in the center of the tongue approximately ½ inch or a bit more back from the front edge. People who are tongue-tied (unable to stick their tongue out enough) due to the webbing underneath or if they have blood vessels running through
the area being pierced.

There can be swelling that lasts for several days after the piercing is done and the sucking on ice will ease the discomfort and help control the swelling. Many people may need to be on a “soft” diet for a few days following the piercing.

SIDES OF THE TONGUE OR HORIZONTAL PIERCING
Not recommended due to the number of blood vessels in the area. These blood vessels if pierced heal very slowly if at all. Secondly, there are many nerve endings there that could be damaged causing speech difficulties and the possible loss of taste buds.

WEBBING OF THE TONGUE AND UPPER LIP
These particular piercing are being done but are not recommended. They are not recommended due to the fact that both piercing rub excessively on the gums and teeth destroying the enamel of the teeth and the bone structure underneath.

Navel
Navel piercing was a sign of royalty to the ancient Egyptians; it was not allowed for the common people. The navel is usually pierced through the ridge of skin directly above the navel. Someone who has an “outtie” is a poor candidate for a navel piercing. The navel is a particularly a difficult piercing to heal and retain. It requires a great deal of dedication as it can easily become irritated by belts, waistbands tight clothes and even sitting and bending.

The navel may also be pierced on the bottom as well as on the sides depending upon the persons anatomy.

NIPPLES
Piercing of the nipples has become increasingly popular in recent years. Next to the ear, it has become the most common body part to be pierced. Both men and women who have their nipples pierced find that they maintain a slight erectness as well as increased sensual sensitivity.

During the reign of King Louis XIV in France and the reign of Queen Victoria of England it was considered commonplace for the aristocratic women of the time to wear very low cut bodices to show off the jewels that were placed in their nipples.

Nipples are usually pierced horizontally, but can be pierced vertically or even diagonally. Proper placement is important to ensure that the piercing is placed at the base of the nipple where the nipple and aereola meet. The ring should fit so that it would have a “door knocker” or “hinged” effect. If the ring is too small it will wear away at the underside of the piercing until it migrates downward to where the ring would sit comfortably, but incorrectly.

As a general rule people with inverted nipples that cannot be easily aroused should not be pierced. The natural position for the nipple being inward could easily force the jewelry to migrate forward and the body reject it. Also, women with very large breasts who show very little nipple should not be pierced because all of the weight being pushed down on the nipple can also cause rejection.

One of the most common concerns is about breastfeeding.
The piercing itself will not prevent the nipple from excreting milk and if wanted the mother need not remove the jewelry for feeding.
If there is a concern about the jewelry a barbell or circular barbell may be worn and removed for feeding.

Body Modification

Send me One Million FREE Guaranteed Visitors

Body modification is not something new, but an art that dates back centuries, possibly all the way back to the time of the caveman.

At my Body Piercing Seminars I tell the story of Og the caveman who is running through the forest with his lit fire stick. Og falls and the stick penetrates through his arm. At that time Og received four forms of body modification that are still practiced today. First he received a crude body piercing from the stick penetrating him. Secondly the carbon from the firestick left pigment behind resulting in a tattoo. He also recieved a brand from the fire itself and a scarification from the wound.

Body Modification has been performed for many reasons. Religious reasons, right of passage, tribal markings, the mark of valor and sexual enhancements to name a few.

Being a Body Modificationist places a great demand on the person perfoming them. The Body Modificationis is responsible for performing precise work, using the utmost care, proper sanitary proceedures and the use of proper equipment.

Being a Body Modificationist requires an individual to act as a counsler, a technician, a shaman or guide helping someone to explore new horizons, cross new thresholds entering a new world of consciousness. It has been a great reward for me to be part of this history. Learn to act accordingly and the rewards will be fulfilling.
